@ Fhanrah - I would recommend a Sabadell Expansion account. As long as you transfer €700 per month into the account there are no charges. I have a number of friends who have this account and have not been charged for anything. However, they may want you to take your fist year's house insurance with them but it is no more than many insurance companies charge and you can cancel it after the forst year - provided you give them TWO months notice before renewal is due.

Regarding transfer of funds - If you are transferring € to € then ask your Irish bank what they will charge to transfer to Spain as it may actually be cheaper than using an FX company. I use Transferwise to transfer £ to € and have found that they consistently offer the best rate.

@ tteedd - I complained to Brusells some years ago about being forced to insurance my property with my bank. The EU commission wrote me a letter to take to my bank supporting my complaint about non-conformance with EU law about tie-in products and mirraculously my bank backed down.

Whilst in Dos Mares see if TVHorada are around - they often have a stand on the ground floor at the end furthest away from the roundabout.
They are part of Teleast and they also do an internet, mobile and landline package.

SkyNetLink (now rebranded as http://www.telfy.com/) have a good deal on all three too but not sure if they come as far south as Santiago

Thank you Acer for your extremely valuable contribution.
Once again a discussion thread has had a negative response for no obvious reason.

You have just proved why people no longer use EoS as much as they used to.

Like other posters, I've read this with interest too. I've used EoS for a good number of years and have found great advice offered by some lovely people. But has been pointed out there are a number of posters now who are so negative that I don't use it as much as I used to.

Regrading it being dated - yes I do find it a "old hat" in appearance and maybe a small revamp would be helpful.
But one thing I would like to see added is a better index of the threads I have posted on (there are times when I want to go back to read a thread and it takes me ages to find it).
