Thanks for the info, quite a bit to digest. We plan to move to a mobile home around Zaragoza/ Murcia area while we search for a more permanent abode that suits our needs. Although our dog Bando the Bandito an Akita is on the banned list, he doesn't have the characteristics of a dangerous dogs. He is more like a tail wagging Labrador. We want to comply with the laws in Spain so how do we practically go about registering the dog? Is it best to employ the services of a vet? What time scale upon arrival do we have? I fully understand the reasons for such laws, although a bit draconian, i just hope common sense is the judge as owner and dog both have non-agressive tendencies. Is this taken in account?

Hello, I have a really docile, 11 year old Japanese Akita, and I'm looking for other people's experiences of obtaining a dangerous dogs licence in Spain. My Akita has absolutely no history of aggression, is fit to travel (and loves travelling) and has his passport and we're totally confused by all the legislation involved. We're planning on moving to Spain but this has really complicated things.
