Hello Supersaver , your agent is correct about the 2 month cancellation clause. This is the same for car and house policies too but when people cancel these a week before or even a day before , the insurance company does not enforce this rule.
With Health policies they do enforce this 2 month cancellation clause and will send out letters threatening legal action. How many insurance companies actually take the action all the way , i do not know. Most health policies run from the 1st of Jan and are for 1 year therefore you must cancel by the 31st Oct.
I have known the agent or insurance company cancel the policy when some clients have not been given the renewal figures in time , ie before the 31st of October.
