I am merely stating my experience which is what this forum is about, the HMRC contacted me to ask whether I wanted to be taxed in UK or Spain as my pensions are paid by UK .
I elected Spain as I think if you commit to live in a country you should pay your tax there, it is not the same for Government pensions they don't have the choice, even though they are resident in Spain they have to pay tax in the UK.
You may be getting the wrong end of the stick, you are both right in a sense but may not have considered those in receipt of these type of pensions, if you are a house owner or resident of Spain you do have to file a tax return, hence the reason my hubby files a NIL return & he isn't the only person I know, who does that so they can't all be wrong nw can they.
