I have a holiday home in cuevas del almanzora, home to desert springs golf and country club also 15 minutes from val de este golf club, the area is predominantly spanish, the people fabulously friendly and helpful, and prices cheap as chips, a beer or glass of wine and tappas for 2 euro, driest part of spain and overall best average monthly temperatures in the whole of europe, give the area a looking at, you can fly to either Murcia or almeria airports, also the new Carvera airport opens early 2012.

The area is very much agricultural, the benefit being is it is not commerialised, the fruit and veg is ridiculously cheap and the freshest i have ever tasted.

Hope you find what you are looking for. I have tried to post links for the golf courses but eye on spain won't allow me to do it, google the places mentioned i am sure you will be impressed

For a quick fact finding visit there is a small hotel in the village called hostal lucero, cheap and very nice.

i have never heard of this company, however i can HIGHLY recommend plane parking, i have used them for nearly 2 years and the service they provide is second to none, they have even purchased water, teabags milk etc on my behalf when i have arrived on late night flights, i would suggest you use them as they offer a combined service for a small additional cost wereas they will bring your car to either alicante or murcia you can fly into one airport and out from another, perfect when looking for ideal flight times.

Hi, i have used them since last september, the service they provide is faultless,they have a screen linked to the arrivals info from the airport nad always on time also wash your car for you before you pick it up, 100% reliable, the main man there is nick. .

Hi all, only my second post on here, you all seem very helpful and friendly, thank you!

I have recenyly purchased in cuevas del almanzora and love the place, can any forum members suggest good resonable priced eateries or bars in the surrounding areas? i have found the bar restaurant quantos vientes in cuevas itself and love it but would now like to strike out further afield and explore, i have transport but my geography of the area is still minimal as i have only visited a couple of times since buying, the area the people, even with my limited spanish and their limited english are very helpful, we are only 5 minutes from desert springs and love that place but again we want to expand our wings so to speak!

Any suggestions or ideas to make our stays more enjoyable will be very gratefully received, suggestions on eating out, bars, entertainment, day's out etc would be great, also we would like to visit at the same time as any local fiestas to see what they are like, does anybody know of the dates of fiestas in the cuevas, villaricos, vera or garuch areas?
