 Hi Everyone,

Thankyou all for this info, it's good to know that we aren't the only ones that are a bit confused by all this info to do with cars.

Our situation is similar to kevnew.   We have the chance to buy a left hand drive car here in the uk,  and want to take it to Spain and leave it there.  It has UK plates.   We are  not  resident in Spain but do have property there so will be using the car when we are there for holidays, and will not be spending 6 months at a time there,  so is the procedure different for us?  We do have NIE numbers.  

Also, you say you have to have had the car for 6 months?  We have been told you can have a car in Spain for 6 months before having to change anything?

Sorry to butt in on your very interesting posts about the language, but I just wanted to ask a quick question while this thread is fresh.

What is the rule regarding the pronunciation of the letter V?  I know that sometimes it is said as B?  Or is it??

I too am frustrated in trying to learn the language,  I think I am doing really well until I ask a Spanish person something, and when they reply,  I'm back to thicko mode.  I also, feel embarrassed sometimes by the sound that is coming out of my mouth.  It sounds awful to me, and so that also holds me back a bit.  But....I will persevere

I have done a search for the recipe and as you can see, you get different variations, that's why I thought it would be good getting it from  a Spanish lady, or someone who has already perfected it.

Mandy, yours is a bit like the recipe that I already followed but I think I only used one egg yolk.  Do you think it would just be difficult to blend if you don't use the egg?

Interesting one about the mashed potato Sterling, it reminds me of when we were in Cadiz and we asked for alioli, and we got potatoes covered in alioli. Still nice though.

Think it may be a case of keep experimenting and see what comes up.  It would be great to get it just right though, cos we love it
