We took house insurance with Alliance in 2007 through a broker/mediator.
next year we got no notification of renewal but recieved a policy.
In 2009 and 2010 we received no quotation or policy just payed up by direct debit.
This year we again received no renewal or quotation so emailed the broker to cancel the policy and we took insurance with another company.
The broker says we should have given 2 months notice of cancellation and we have to pay. We understand this the law but were told by another broker that everyone changes and the companies don't enforce the law. Surely under law the broker or the company are required to notify us what the renewal price/quotation will be otherwise they could charge anything.
Can anyone help me with guidance.
Thanks in grateful anticipation
