Forgot to say, we also need to check that there is no outstanding debt on the car, how would we find this out and who do we contact?

We have just bought a car to use in spain, it is already registered in spain but we are not sure what is the procedure about MOT and Tax, how do we tell if it is already MOTd and Taxed.  Also what documents do we require and how do we go about getting them.
