Hi my name is Alexander Liden and I am from Sweden. Looking around for a place in the sun we looked at Bulgaria, Montenegro, Cape Verde, Canaries, but finally decided that costas in Spain is the right choice for us. Mainly because it's easy and cheap to fly from Sweden to Alicante or Malaga. We are in the process of searching a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment or a townhouse but were very dissappointed with real estate agents who tried to screw us up. So we have decided to buy direct from the owner if we can find a nice quiet property very near to the sea. We were thinking of spending 150 000 euros and we are cash buyers. They say that banks in Spain own many properties but looking on the Internet we have only seen estate agents selling. How do banks market the properties they want to sell? I have read that if you are cash buyer you could have some advantage of it, but I do not really see in what way. Any way the reason for getting a holiday home in Spain is the climate, nice walks along the beach and good food. I am relly pleased to have found eyeonspain because here is a forum with lot of nice people.
