I live in UK. I have a Finnish relative who has lived alone in Spain
(Costa del Sol) for over 20 years, and he may soon be needing assistance
to continue living at home, or a place in a care home. It seems that
the Spanish welfare system depends on support from family in such
situations, so the family elsewhere in Europe may need to contribute.
It appears to be possible in many countries to get tax relief on payments
made to Registered Charities elsewhere in EU. Does anyone know of a route
whereby contributions towards someone else's care needs or care home fees
in Spain can be channeled through a Spanish charity?
