In response to your questions re. the Brittany Ferry Voyage Club, if you haven't already solved the queries I can probably help clear up a few points. I am a member and it took me ages to work out whether it would be cost effective or not, as my husband and I do the Portsmouth to Santander crossing twice a year too. If you pick a random crossing as an example of your next trip and get a price online as a non-member, then give me the details and I will get a price for same using my membership number - that way you can compare the difference and see how much of a saving you would actually make. The 30% isn't on the entire booking, and that's where we all get confused and don't make as much of a saving as we think. The most cost effective way is to join yourself as the full member and get a friend who is in the same position to join as an associate member and split the cost each year, and they get the same discount as you. There is an extra cost for being an associate member, but when we worked it all out - the full member cost plus the associate member cost each year, split in half, was worth doing and made us a decent saving each year. It's very confusing, but if you want to know more then send me details of a crossing you think you may make and I will work it out for you, and dig out my details to let you know exact costings of joining + savings etc. If you've already sorted it then happy sailing.
