We non-resident property owners have enjoyed the protection of the European Council and the European Court of Justice in obtaining parity of treatment for CGT and IHT (albeit it took me 10 years to achieve it).  If we leave the EU we will immediately lose that protection and once again be at the mercy of the Spanish Government who regard us as easy pickings.

It will be in the interest of any non-resident property owner to vote in favour of remaining within the EU.  I have spent the last 10 years fighting to establish parity for non-resident property owners in respect of Spanish taxes - particularly Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax.  Brussels has been instrumental in achieving this.  However the latest cases only apply to non-resident property owners who are citizens of EU states.  If we leave the EU, we lose that protection and it opens the gates for the Spanish Government once more to regard us as easy pickings.

I entered my appeal in February 2014.  I am still waiting to find out whether it has been successful.  My numerous emails have gone unanswered, as has my complaint to theOmbudsman.
