Hi I live in Manilva and want to know if there is an alternative water company I can use if I do not want to use Hidralia.  The house currently has a contract with Hidralia and is on a water meter.  Is there any other company you can use or does it have to be Hidralia?

Hi

On  my friends house his automatic sprinkler system has stopped working. Jardinworld have been out, they told us to contact housing, housing said it is nothing to do with them.  Who do we contact to get it repaired/replaced?

Does anyone know if it is covered by the house guarentee

Just a quick not to set the records straight . Last week Hilary asked some of the residents for money towards getting some of the communities feral cats spayed.   I understand that a rumour is circulating that this was a free service.  This is not the case.  The charity dealing with the feral cats asked for a MINIMUM donation of 20 euros per cat.  We were only able to get it this cheap because we caught the cats and transported them and collected them from Las Ramblas. (aprox 40 minute drive away).

We were able to collect 40 euros from the site and as a result 2 cats were spayed, Richard and I donated a further 20 euros towards the good work that this charity does.
We also took a small kitten from the site to the vet in San Pedro Del Pinatar as it was very ill and clearly suffering.  The vet advised that he would need to put the kitten down.   He said he would do this Free of Charge ( maybe this is where the rummor has come from)  However were were told today that the vet had actually given the kitten antibiotics and that he was well and as a result we have brought him home. Richard and I then covered the vets cost of the antibiotics and other injections.

I know there are many people on the site who have given money, food and other items to Richard and I for the charity that we work for.  It is for them and those who gave re the feral cats that am writing.  I do not want a bad rumour to stop them being so kind.  I can assure you that everything we receive goes to help the animals.

I also know many of you are upset re the feral cats.  By spaying we can keep the population down.  Also, please note that all the stray cats on the development are on the APAH waiting list to be brought into the cattery.

I hope this clarifies things and i hope that I do not sound like I am moaning but I really want people to be aware of the fact that their money went to a really good cause.

Thanks

Claire

As some of you know,  I try in my spare time to help out with APAH our local animal rescue centre.   At this moment  they are having a lot of funding problems due to resources being pushed to the limit by the large number of dumped dogs on the Costa Blanca. Believe it or not most of these at the moment are English owners dumping dogs that have been family members for years because they have not kept the pet passport up todate and are returning back to the UK.

I am not going to ask for money as I know thing are tight for everyone but it you do have of the following things that you do not need please can you bring them to 60 Jose Sanchez Lozano and we will see that they are put to good use.

Dog Items - beds, blankets, leads, collars, brushes, playthings etc.    these do not have to be new. I walked a dog this morning on two leads tied together as there was not another one available.
Cat Items - bowls brushes, playthings.
Dried Cat and Dog food
Bottled water
Any Bric a Brac, clothes, books, furniture and other items. I can arrange collection on large items.

If anyone has free time on their hands and wants to help with dog walking, fostering ( please note APAH cover the vets bills for fostered animals) or even some paperwork then please do let me know what you want to do and I will put you in touch with the right people.  We will work around you and the time that you can give.

Finally, if you know anyone who is looking to get a dog, please can you ask them to call APAH as they have numerous dogs to home in all shapes and sizes, even at the moment have several pure breeds who need a home.  Also all animals that are old enough will have been spayed/castrated and all will have had their innoculations.  This could save any new pet owner hundreds of euros in costs.

Please can you also pass this on to your friends in other local developments and I can arrange collection of their items as well.

Thank you all for any assistance that you can give.

Hi kevin  and Connie

Then electric meters were read at the beginning of this wk and the bill have been sent to the post office.  For those not permenant I think you can view them on line.

The good news for you is that 65 units used will mean a very small bill. Mine was 165 aprox for 1200 units.  this inc IVA and the meter rental/line charges. (same as we have in the UK for water)

Hope this helps.

Claire
