Thanks johnzx

Im going to Spain in three weeks so will look into that.

somebody asked about online banking in  English. The   Solbank system is very good and allows payments to be made nationally as well as within the Sol branches. Their local offices have always had reasonable English speakers too, but I'm not impressed with their email/online messages as they always pass the buck to other people and seem to have little coordination between branches and their head office. They do have a branch in London too.

I think many Spanish banks waive charges if you pay in pension etc on a monthly basis.

As a UK resident I don't want to do that, so options appear very limited. Anyone tell me of a good facility without having to do that?

Don't use a bank to transfer funds, use one of the many UK companies who offer the service such as FX or the one Eye On Spain advertises ( but it's not the best available). That means opening a Spanish account first but it will save a lot of money.

Which bank to use for an ordinary account is a problem. All charge hefty fees, unlike the U.K. But Santander have introduced a123 Account  like U.K. However you have to be a Spanish resident (which I am not). I currently use Solbank organised by my uk bank HSBC but will take the advice of an earlier post and talk to them about waiving the exorbitant fees as I have a healthy balance.

Id be interested in changing to another if people can recommend an alternative.

Good luck.

Can anyone tell me how to find a list of organisations/companies who are approved to issue an EPC - prefereably in the Casraes/Manilva area?

Thanks

Dear Dave

I see you are in Estepona. I have a property near Sabinillas and want to organaise an EPC so would be grateful for any help you can give on choosing a company that will neither  rip me off nor turn out to be an unqualified scammer

Regards

Bob
