Even though car insurance is annual you can pay quarterly. Arrange to pay in this way...the first quarter. Then cancel the future payments with your bank. That way you can keep the car for the month and drive it and be insured without paying the full years premium!

Hello Steve,

If you are planning to travel around Spain in a motor home I suggest you join a couple of the motor home forums on the internet where owners share their experiences of driving in Europe, about Spain, sites, free parking and much much more. They also have meet ups and there are always loads of people up and down the coast here on the Costa Del Sol.

 

It was a great help to me when I drove out here last year in my 21 year old LHD Hymer with my kids and grandkids. I Have worked in Spain and speak Spanish so language wasn't a problem. But out of season you can easily park right next to the beach and we even did it at one end of Fuengirola promenade in August. Happy times.

The auctioneers will have the persons details who asked them to sell the car at least their name and address. A bill will have been made up because of commission charges which the seller will have had to pay the auctioneer and the auctioneer in turn will have had to pay them the money the car sold for  less that commission. They would usually do this in the form of a cheque sent to the persons address.

Again as long as the seller was the registered owner of the car in Spain you will be able to ask for their NIE number/ and or photocopy and a photocopy of their passport. The original registered owner hopefully will not find this a strange request having lived and owned a Spanish registered car and having gone through the same rigmarole themselves at some stage.
