Telephonica on a roll
Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Hi All, Just returned from Spain and are now the owners of a telephonica broadband line.  Our neighbours who can speak Spanish called for us on Tuesday at 3.00 pm and low and behold by Wednesday we had a call to say they were calling at 10.00 am that day.  So in less than one day we had our broadband line up and running.  How's that for efficiency. Back again with a few more tips
Friday, March 19, 2010

Hi All,

Yes me again with a few more useful tips of how to get rid of nasty little bugs that invade our home.

Tip 1 Mosquitos

Make sure you don't have any standing water about where they can breed. Stick some cloves in a lemon and leave it near to windows and door this will deter them entering your home.  Also place a small container of clove oil in the rooms in your home, but remember to check regularly just in case a top up is needed.

Tip 2 Ants

Problem with ants invading your home.  Buy some cinnamon powder and sprinkle it around the places where you have seen them entering.  Ants will not cross a line of cinnamon.  So buy some next time your shopping.

Tip 3 Cockroaches

Yucky- Place a jam lid containg a mixture of sugar and borax (3:1 ratio) under sinks and behind appliances. DO LET KIDS OR PETS GET NEAR, SO KEEP THEM WELL TUCKED AWAY. You can also sprinkle the mixture into cracks and crevices.

Hope my tips are helpful to some of you.

Bye 4 now.

A few useful tips for around the home- old wives tales - but they work
Thursday, March 18, 2010

Hi All,

Tip for cleaning the crusted up shower head - cheap and easy

Tip 1   To unclog the holes that are bloked with scale. All you have to do is fill a plastic bag (make sure there are no leaks from it) with distilled vinegar, place head(no not yours- the shower head) into the liquid.  Secure bag so no liquid can escape and leave for about 12 hours.  This will restore your shower head to good as new - well so they say.  Give it a try.

Tip 2   This will also work on your tiles.  Use neat distilled vinegar for 10 minutes and it will help get rid of hard water marks.

Tip 3   Enamel fixtures can be cleaning with rubbing a cut lemon over them.

A few more tips tomorrow.

Bye

Justin is a wizz
Thursday, March 18, 2010

Well this is the first attempt at blogging.  My husband and I live at the moment in Hemel Hempstead, UK and we are hoping to resettle in Estepona in July is year.  Thanks to Justin's Spainuncut videos and information we hope to avoid too many problems.

The information about Making money on line was great and I quickly proceeded to join the other adventurous  silver surfers and  am try to make a few pennies by blogging.  I even surprised myself.

We own (or have mortgages) for several properties in Spain - Costs del Sol area.    We have had lots of problems over the years with bad builders and Reality agent and  have had several court cases, some we have won and others we should have won but somehow despite overwhelming evidence we still lost the case, to everyone amazement.  Anyway, we'll leave that for another time.

I'm interested in Ancestry and have traced my relatives back to 1640 which I find great fun as I love the chase.

Well this is a start.  Anybody else out there interest in ancestry, we could swap tips.
