Hi All
We have just come back from a great week or so in our apartment and have to say it was lovely to see the place with a few people around. The pool on the apartment site was busy most of the time, although the 12am -9/10pm opening times seemed a bit late in the day, we would have liked an earlier opening and if necessary an earlier finish, particularly at the weekend, especially as seeing Libertath (not sure how you spell her name) the very friendly young lady who was lifeguarding most of the time, kicking her heels, waiting for 10pm on Friday night, not a soul around the pool for the last couple of hours.
Something that occurred to us while we were there is, as the pool opened over 2 weeks late, shouldn't it stay open later in the season i.e. into October and may be half term. Afterall I'm sure it would still be warm enough, I don't know the figures yet but if we and Romanber have or are going to pay for it to be opened for 4 full months then surely it should be open that long. Just a thought, especially as we hope to be there in October
It was also good to meet a few of our fellow investors, most of them for the first time, not just from the apartments but also the town houses. We did feel very envious when Ronny said he was there for 6 yes 6 weeks! Not sure we could handle blue sky every day for 6 weeks especially now that we are back home to this stunning british summer and enjoying the grey clouds, torrential rain and fleeting glimpses of sun, but we'd like to try!
On the apartment site Romanber have had some success with either sales or lets for some more of the apartments, in our block including the Romanber office there are 5 of us now, out of a total of 8 apartments. So who nows we might get the garage soon, Russell told us that people have been working on the gas and we saw that some more work had or is going on with the electric down in the basement. While we were down there we noted that the Trastero 110 still has a large leak through the wall and there was another leak through the ceiling from either the showers or the water to the pool that floods down occasionally. But at least with more people there should be more community fees and hopefully the site can get a bit of TLC.
We even spotted a council worker cleaning up the sh*t from Camino de Bornos although he ignored the piles of it by the bus stop at the top of the hill, but at least someone is cleaning some of it up, even if the rubbish that blows over the hill is just as bad as ever. That's about the only thing we really feel embrassed about friends or renters seeing but apart from that Arcos always gives us a warm welcome. We even got to see the town celebrate the football victory on the sunday, which was a great night, everybody was very happy.
Anyway I'm sure more of you will be going out there over the next few weeks, and we know you will have a great time, so don't forget to tell us about it, and let us enjoy again being in Arcos
Regards
Ruth and Trevor
