Does anyone know whats happening to this development? I have constantly emailed the Liber bank who is in possession of the property but cant get any sense out of them.

My interest lies in the chance of getting the empty finished apartments and possibly another part of this development taken up with an interested party of mine where the apartments and possibly some independant housing that could be built on part of the land available with the sale of the property, can be utilised for sheltered/assisted living accommodation with a warden on site and some facilities within. I have done a lot of research and have had a great response for this kind of enterprise in the immediate and surrounding area and although contacting someone at the bank in question several times, have yet to get some possitive reaction from them. Hope this clarifies the situation although Im open to further comments.

What you will find with Bank Repo's...if you are talking about a large number of property's on the same development they will only release a few ..every couple of months ...they will not flood the market they like to get the highest price possible.

The Spanish Social Housing Association (AVS).
These would probably be a more appropriate body to contact. They will be able to target the areas of deprivation and social need for housing.
People trying to buy housing on a 'beach club resort' and earmarking this for social housing to purchase from repossessions in numbers, and land too, may perhaps not be looked on as 'white knights' by the banks?
You may have to re-think your strategy and change the charger!!

I would like to thank each and all for your comments but it dont instill any confidence in taking this matter further. Its not the B all and end all of my interests as I do have other projects I know of that might be of interest to my interested party. I think the comments that Windtalker makes are probably right and the matter is not worth pursuing. A great shame as the property was certainly worth considering.

Believe me..the last thing you want to get involved with is Spanish social housing... social housing /long term private rentals in Spain are not like the UK that has a 6 month tenancy shorthold agreement ..in Spain it is very difficult to recover your property due to government legislation which has turned all long term rentals in to ( basically) sitting tenancies rendering your Property worthless...you often see people on EOS looking for short term rentals for the winter months with no success this is the reason why ... basically at the end of the agreement they don't have to get out if they can prove it is there only place of residence/home ...in most cases I have heard about if they don't pay you rent money you still can't get them out...it is also very common to hear of property owners giving the keys back to the bank due to renters that won't pay and the property needing repairs ..that they are obligated to carryout.
