Valor Catastral,IBI Payments

Good Morning,I heard somewhere that the Estepona Catastral Values for Properties in Estepona were busy being reviewed.Does anyone know more about this matter .If this does happen will IBI Bill Amounts be reduced for 2011.If this not happening then something should be done about it as Property Prices have dropped dramtically since 2008 when these values were changed.           I read from Newspaper Reports that other Municipalities  in Andalucia are reviewing their  Catastral Figures this year already.

Really dont see a reduction in IBI as a result of falling property values.

UK Council Tax hasn't been reduced as a result of similar falling property values (as I recall its been rising at well above the rate of inflation, roughly 10% per annum, since it was introduced).

Given that IBI represents much better value for money than Council Tax, and that councils have to meet ever increasing costs, I really cannot see how a decrease could be on the way. If you want to make a protest about unfair charges how about making a protest about UK Council Tax?

When I left the UK in 2006 my C / Tax was £1100 pa this year it is £1750pa. Contrast that with our IBI which costs us just 150€ per year, I think I know which one I prefer...
