Speaking Spanish
The Comments |
We have managed to learn a little Spanish like most peopl;e but would like to learn a bit more. Does anyone know of a group who do this without going to the school type Spanish lessons.
We are on the Southern Costa Blanca
Steve and Margaret.

Hi there Steve & Margaret
You'd be better off starting a new thread (or adding to an existing one) in this board Learning Spanish Yours here will get buried in the General Chat board.
I know, on our large urb with around 35 communities outside Guardamar, owners get together with a teacher on occasions but also have coffee mornings at each others homes solely to speak Spanish, no English is allowed.

Hi Steve and Margaret, It might be worth asking your Town Hall they organize Spanish lessons in our small village. It was not worth us doing it as we are not their all the time, but a lot of the residents by us were doing the course. Pat

Hi Pat
Yes that's a good idea but I don't think that was what Steve & Margaret were wanting. Where we are you also need to know when the Town Hall is about to let you register as the course gets booked up within minutes. I gathered they were after a less formal arrangement, excuse me if I understood it wrongly.

Whilst you are looking for lessons, the BBC website has a very good introductory course on line which I found very useful. Although I live in the UK, this site together with a 10 week crah course got me by whilst on holiday this year. There is also a book they recommend called Talk Spainish (I think) which I found very useful on learning the basics. You may have been looking for something more in-depth but thought you may find this useful.
