Hi

Sorry if this has been covered before.   My understanding is that post brexit a uk citizen can visit spain for up to 90 days in any 180 day period.  I also understand that if a UK citiizen is resident in spain for over six months they should have obtained residency and will be a spanish resident for tax purposes. My question is about when a UK citizen wants to spend more than 90 days in any 180 day period in Spain but will not be there for more than 6 months in any one year.  i.e wants to stay in an apartment they own in Spain for say 5 months in one go.   In this case, is it possible / desirable to apply for and obtain spanish residency without automatically becoming a spanish resident for tax purposes.   Another way to ask the question I guess is do you automatically become spanish resident for tax purposes when you obtain residency, regardless of how long you actually spend in Spain during any one year?

Thanks in advance

Steve

Hi

Is anyone else experiencing problems with the vodafone.es website. I'm trying to recharge my balance on my Internet SIM and keep getting the error message that "an unknown error has occurred"? I've done this a load of times before so don't think it’s me.

Hi

I have purchased a vodafone sharing dock combined with a 3G USB stick which provides a local wireless internet connection in our apartment in Spain.  It works great but its a real pain going to the local vodafone shop to get a top up.  I think you can top up online over the internet but it looks to me this gives you 5,10 or 20 euros of calls and SMS on the number you proivide rather than a broadband download capacity of so many MB over a period of time.

All help gratfully received.

Steve

Sorry I meant Top-Up and not To pup !!!!!

I now use Xe.com every time, their rate is about 1.5% below advertised rate and changes in real time.

i make the deal, transfer the £ to them by direct transfer, which is instant, and the money is in my Euro account within three days with no charges.
