A View from the Mountains

As widely predicted the Democrats have surged ahead in the mid-term elections in the USA.

The "Blues" have taken control of both the Senate and Congress in Wednesday's poll.

What does this mean?

For the remaining two years of his presidency Donald J Trump will be a lame-duck president, unable to get any of his bills into the statute books.

It also means that he may be impeached for the third time.

The House of Representatives (Congress) can now launch all sorts of investigations into the way Trump and his family have been making money since he returned to The White House for his second term in 2024.

According to the BBC the Democrats have 54 per cent of the 100 seats in the Senate with most votes counted.

In Congress they have 225 to the Republicans 137 with 73 seats still to be declared. So, if my maths is correct, the "Reds" cannot win the House.

Firsts

The Democrats have achieved the following "firsts":

first ever black governor

first ever muslim senator

first ever openly gay senator.

Also an unprecedented 15 women were elected as senators in one state.

Conclusion

So, the American people have spoken. They've had enough of the Orange One. Maybe he'll get his come-uppance and be impeached and indicted for his 'crimes'.
