Welfare for dogs - the cheque is in the post!

I had this in an email today (American obviously) and, as I have 12 dogs, found it quite amusing:-
This morning I went to sign up my dogs for welfare.
At first the lady said, "Dogs are not eligible to draw welfare", but I explained to her that my dogs are mixed in color, unemployed, lazy, can't speak English and have no clue who their daddies are. They expect me to feed them, provide them with housing and medical care, and expect me to feel guilty because they are dogs.
So she looked in her Welfare Policy book to see what it takes to qualify.........
My dogs get their first checks Friday! Damn, this is a great country!

I do hope that no one will be offended by the above.
As I said I have 12 dogs, all abandoned and found in various states, from death's door to just not wanted anymore. The oldest, I have had for 9 years and the youngest for 8 months. What never fails to amaze me is how welcoming they have always been to the next one in. After the usual shows of dominance to sort the pecking order, it's business as usual.
