News from the Mar Menor, Costa Calida

we are trying to build a bank of information on the Mar Menor, Costa Calida in Murcia to help those who live there and visit. www.discovercostacalida.info - tourists, residents, holidaymakers, places to visit, where to eat. Los Alcazares, San Javier, La Manga, Cartagena, Murcia

Welcome to our new Blog - do you know where the Costa Calida is??

Hi we have lived on the Costa Calida for three years now. We are close to San Javier Airport in a small Spanish village.  When we try to find information about where we live we always seem to struggle to find anything for close to us despite it being quite a busy tourist area, further down the coast closer to Mazarron there seems to be lots of information about services and places to visit.

We decided the answer was to design a website for the Costa Calida but initially focusing on the area around the Mar Menor.

The website is now live and we hope people will find it useful. We hope people will look at it and let us know what else we need to put on it so we can continue to develop it. Also we now need to find some businesses to put adverts on the site so people can go to the site and find a restaurant or a plumber or locksmith or translator or ????????????

have a look at the site and contact us with your thoughts    www.discovercostacalida.info

Hi
I've saved your site to my favourites. I'll take a longer look later but I did see the links, whilst showing as underlined, are the same colour as the other text. I've found from experience with my own site that the links look better if in coloured text. Also when info's added it would be better to post the date it was as too much on the web is very old & out of date information. Just my thoughts, you did ask.

Hi, I too have just bookmarked your site, it looks interesting, though I cannot see restaurant recommendations and no mention of beaches of Los Alcazares and San Pedro.
I have a property at Roda so am always interested in info on the area and find www.simplynetworking.es very good for news as well as cultural information.
http://www.murciaturistica.es/en/tourism.home is also a good resource.
But look forward to seeing your site grow, maybe worth researching all the golf in the area as well, as there are now a number of resort courses along with sailing schools on the Mar Menor.
Good luck

Best of luck with the site, it looks like you are building a good resource there. You perhaps need to do a bit more search engine optimisation on it so that it ranks better in the search engines.

Well done. We had the same problem about our area, there were a couple of sites but they were more interested in making money through advertising then providing a good online source for visitors or residents. A couple of us got together and got a site going about 6 weeks back and we are now getting close to 100 unique visits per day, had great feedback and already working well in search engines. Its still early days but we have lots of plans for the coming months.
Would you mind a bit of advice, as Justin says the SEO could do with a bit of work and when you get really going amend your pages to reflect a name rather than a number eg. page_2222910.html to costa-calida.html
Good luck with your site and try to get local publications to do a bit about it, create a facebook page for it too as that is a great source of getting people aware of it and using it.
