The price of a can of coke

Diet coke

I'm not one to usually moan about the price of things but I also really don't enjoy getting ripped off.

However, now and then I do quite enjoy a can of Diet Coke, especially when it starts getting hot, as it is now.

When I was in Sabinillas the other day I bought a can of DC from the little kiosk in the square and he charged me €1 for the pleasure.

A couple of days ago I bought another can from a shop in the village in Manilva and they charged me €0.60.

Today, I went to the shop around the corner and they charged me €0.70.

Talk about consistency!

I think I know which shop I'm going to be visiting more often! I do like to support local businesses as much as possible but not when they are clearly taking the p*ss.

Maybe I should just stop drinking Diet Coke??

Much as I also hate getting ripped off there can be a justifiable reason for the price differences.
Based on the turnover the kiosk has limited storage and probably lower turnover which means he has to pay more for his stock.
The retail price may be different but the profit margins could all be the same. Its possible that the kiosk makes less profit than the others per can. Keep on drinking your DC and supporting the small traders and remember the conveniance factor also.

its all a rip off when in sainsbuy's at the moment you can get a 2 ltr bottle for a pound.i know packaging plays a part but really that much.

1 can of coke in most Spanish supermarkets is 50 to 51 centimos.
1 can of good quality beer is 47 to 48 centimos.
Drink more beer!

This year 2011, in some shops I pay 49pence, others 54pence, others 61pence, others 85pence!

The interesting thing is that independant shops charge less than mega sized companies who have huge discounts for buying bulk!

To produce a can of diet coke is possibly less than 6 pense!!!!!!
