Bar-B-Qs...Pets...and Rip Offs

Great to see that you have still got your sense of humours, Yes the Spanish do indeed participate in that Aussie outside catering experience we call the Bar-B-Q and if you take a walk out into the national parks you will find areas designated to this activity, often left by the users un-cleaned and probably frequented by the night time activity of the abandoned dogs, dogs that were once to be a prized 'pet' until it's maturity revealed it to be another mix breed that the Spanish pride would find unacceptable and an embarrassment, their action is to chuck it out of a car and get another one...third time lucky?
I was as close to integrating with the Spanish as you can get, I put a lot of money into the local community, whilst I created people’s dreams, and I often recommended Spanish companies, we were friends I thought until a Spanish girl explained that the British were considered 'RICH' and were known as 'Cash Cows'...here to be milked. Some ex-pats treat the Spanish as third world fools and deserve what they get but the rest of us who try to build a community spirit deserve to be treated fairly. Have you ever been to a Bar-B-Q where the host has invited a Spanish person?...probably invited just to show how well they have done in starting a new life, a Spanish friend who charged them €30,000 for a pool and patio!...a bargain?...after all they know what they are doing and can get all the paperwork done quicker...more back hands being paid...and yes his Council contact is at the Bar-B-Q as well, friends all round or just trying to be introduced to the next 'Cash Cow'?
So if you have been invited to a Spanish Bar-B-Q get three quotes before you get the work done and shop around, too many times we ex-pats get herded towards the same outlet because 'they're really nice'. During my blogs I will reveal some of the rip offs that you can avoid, Spain is no different to the UK and conmen abound so beware and return to my blogs...with an open mind.
