MCC & Me

I am now starting to get more than a little hacked off with the situation we all find ourselves in here.

Our illustrious (former) president STILL refuses to hand over any keys either to the person who got voted in or to the three independant reps who were elected on the night.

This woman is a TOTAL DISGRACE and should be very ashamed of her actions. We are now as a community, being held to ransom, but I think she may find that the worm is about to turn..

I am now definately going to be looking into taking out a personal denuncia against her and the administrator as I believe that they were in cahoots from the beginning. Our 'president' certainly has her own agenda but in reality I think that she has been nothing but a puppet for the last 12 months.

I really need to calm down.....

Weather today is bit of a mixed bag - at the moment it is bright, but we have had a little bit of rain (although nothing like Sunday and Monday).

Come Thursday, it will be 1 week since we had our AGM here on MCC.

As yet, we still have no confirmation of who our new President is. Our old one has all but disappeared and refuses to take any responsibility whatsoever for the community. The office is closed so if you do have any problems you have to go into the port to see the administrator.

We have next to no money in the community coffers and the administrator seems to hold all the cards at the moment (and he is dodgy to say the least!)

I know that our situation here on MCC is in no way unique, but living it day today is becoming a nightmare.

I am now considering a personal denuncia against the 'President' which will probably do no good in the long run, but will make me feel much better.....

Still at least it has stopped raining.....

What a day!! It has rained non-stop since this morning and I am no longer sure where my pool ends and the terrace begins! We have been very short of rain here this year, so it has to be said that it was a relief at first, but I have started to suffer cabin fever, not being able to go out.

I did have a quick look at the weather online for the next 7 days and I would love to say that this was a one off, but it does look like we may have more rain tomorrow and possibly Tuesday as well. I had hoped to go to the market in the port but I think that I would have been swimming amongst the stalls!!

MCC is still without a president following the AGM on Thursday. I was under the impression that under HPL, the previous president was still obliged to remain responsible for the urbanisation until such time as a new president is elected, but ours seems to have cut and run (no real loss if I am honest but you would have thought that she would have had the decency to remain in her position until this had happened).

Oh well, tomorrow is another day - maybe next week will bring a better outlook both in terms of the weather and regarding the urbanisation....

We have a bulletin board here on MCC - it's a great tool for sharing thoughts and ideas and keeping up to date with all things that are happening here. Sounds great doesn't it?

Wrong.

All it really does is create bad feeling and animosity.

There are few suspects on here who think that it is tremendous fun to throw in snide and nasty comments then sit back and watch the fallout. When they are challenged they swear blind that they have done nothing untoward (I will not name names - to protect the guilty).

When you consider that a lot of the people living here are of a 'certain age', you would think that they would know how to behave, but I suspect a lot of them are starting to regress - too much sun and cheap alcohol!!!

I wish that my first blog was a happy one full of positivity, but unfortunately that is not going to be the case.....

On Thursday we had our AGM and I think that the only way to describe it was farcical. Now I have to say, I am not a great fan of these events - they always seem to descend into a serious bun-fight, but this one really has reached an all time low in my eyes. First thing to wind me up - it did not start until 5pm. We have a a very bad 12 months here on MCC and I am pretty convinced that one of the reasons for doing it at this ridiculous time was that the powers that be knew that a lot of people would leave before the more important agenda items were even looked at! And that leads me to problem number two - the agenda was in completely the wrong order. Our President had already said that she was going to be stepping down and a new candidate had put himself and a very strong team forward for election. He did try to get the agenda changed so that the elections could take place earlier in the meeting, but this was rejected by the administrator. Last year, when the last president was elected she took over the meeting from its start but this year she stuck her heels in and made it impossible for the same thing to happen.

The paperwork for the AGM was sent out so late that a lot of non-resident owners did not have the chance to get their proxy forms in and the inaccurate debtor's list meant that a lot of people were denied the right to vote despite the fact that they were not actually debtors. Our biggest debtor is our developer - funnily enough though he was able to vote as he lodged a cheque with the notary right at the last minute (this is money we will as a community never see - he did the same thing last year)

All this begs the question - what is the point? We now have no official president as the developer used his dodgy vote against the only candidate on a defaced voting form...

Hopefully my next posting will be more upbeat - am going out tonight so will drown my sorrows........
