Buying property in Spain

We are buying a property on the Costa Del Sol. The developer is 15 months late on his original completion date. He is now saying that if we dont complete in April he will start incurring charges to our account. Can he do this?

Help.  We are buying a property on the Costa Del Sol and the Developer is 15 months late on completion.  Our solicitor has E:mailed us to say that apartment now ready and if we do not complete in April he will start adding charges to our account.  We can't go out as yet as my mother is seriously ill.  Have asked for an extension and been told no.  Can he do this?  If not can somebody point me in the right direction to get help to stop him adding charges to our account.

We feel that we have been very patient with him!!!!

Can just one of you go out to complete? Or, can you give your lawyer POA to complete on your behalf?

Hi sorry this post is a bit late. Who said they will add charges your developer or your solicitor?

When we bought from roda golf they were also running late but as they were running behind how could they except all to be on the dot when they are ready. I think this is a bit harsh and would get futher advice?
