Everton To Move For Valencia Defender Miguel - Report

Everton manager David Moyes could be preparing to attempt to take Valencia defender Miguel to Goodison Park this summer.
Moyes has a right-back at the club already in Tony Hibbert, who has been a regular fixture in the first-team for several seasons now. But many see Hibbert as a weak link in the team's back four. And the Toffees have also declined to offer a new contract to Danish full-back Lars Jacobsen, who has now joined Blackburn Rovers on a free transfer. The News Of The World is now reporting that Moyes is ready to make a bid of around €6 million (£5m) for the Portugal international, who has made 50 appearances for his country.
The 29-year-old was ready to leave the Mestalla after five seasons earlier this summer, as Los Che continue to struggle financially. However, Miguel recently declared himself happy to stay with the club, although did not rule out a possible departure in the future, if it suited both him and his current employers. Tottenham Hotspur had also been linked with the stopper recently, but with Kyle Naughton arriving at White Hart Lane, Everton may have a free run at chasing the player's signature.
