Manchester United's pre-season concludes with a friendly against Valencia this evening ahead of Wembley's Community Shield clash with Chelsea at the weekend, and Michael Carrick believes the Los Che fixture could be a good warm-up for the Blues clash, as this evening's game will have an "entertaining" edge. Carrick explained to the United Review, "It will allow us to gauge where we’re at and look at the things that need tweaking or working on, and there’s no better place to do that than Old Trafford.
"Valencia are a top side and I’m sure it’ll be an entertaining match."
United enjoyed a strong pre-season in Asia where they fought off a Malaysian XI (twice), as well as FC Seoul. Sir Alex Ferguson also oversaw an emphatic victory when his side beat Hangzhou Greentown by an 8-2 scoreline. United recently progressed to the final of the Audi Cup but came unstuck against Bayern Munich in an epic penalty shoot-out. Free transfer Michael Owen is the club's top scorer in pre season having bagged four goals in five games. Ryan Giggs has three, after he scored a hat-trick in the Hangzhou tie.
