The Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder is expected to complete his move to Internazionale after another round of talks over a reported £3.5million-a-year salary demand.
Reports in Italy claim a fee rising to £15.7m has been agreed for the transfer and that a compromise over the personal terms has now been reached.
An integral figure as Real won the Primera División in 2007-08, Sneijder has since suffered from both injuries and poor form. However, the Dutch magazine Sportweek yesterday quoted Sneijder as saying he did not want to leave the Bernabéu.
"I continue thinking that Real is the best club in the world, even though they want to transfer me," Sneijder said. "My intention is to continue here until I am told to leave.
"If I am still here on 1 September then the club cannot transfer me and this increases my chances of playing with Madrid. The coach sees me as part of the team."
