The Argentine has lambasted Barca, accusing them of double standards on the transfer market...
Real Madrid sporting director Jorge Valdano has launched an attack on fierce rivals Barcelona, according to AS.
Following Barca's signing of Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 53-year-old Valdano criticised the Blaugrana for not practising what they preached. This was in response to Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who had earlier this summer criticised Los Merengues for the signings of Kaka and Ronaldo for €68.5 million and €94m respectively.
"The church appears to be above religion, when they signed Ibrahimovic they didn't practice what they preached. It surprised me that they didn't apply the same rules as Cristiano Ronaldo to the Ibrahimovic transfer," said Valdano.
The Argentinian also suggested that the Catalans were "inward focused", unlike Madrid, who "look outward".
The former Madrid trainer also had praise for new coach Manuel Pellegrini, who he described as being "a man who knows Spanish football perfectly, who comes to Madrid with a professional maturity", but acknowledged his first choice to takeover from Juande Ramos was Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
