Manchester City striker Robinho is set for a move to Barcelona during the winter transfer window with moves already underway to land the Brazilian, according to Spanish publication Sport.
It is reported that a deal could be struck between the two clubs in mid-December when Barca club president Joan Laporta is scheduled to meet officials from Manchester City during the FIFA World Club Championships in Abu Dhabi.
While Barcelona are understood to be seeking an initial six month loan deal with a view to buying the player outright next summer, City may look for the entire fee upfront in a straight transfer, which could prove a stumbling block in the deal.
The player is understood to be keen on a switch to Camp Nou during the transfer window and City may be willing to part with the 25-year-old who has only featured for them on a handful of occasions due to a troublesome ankle injury.
Should the deal to bring Robinho to Catalunya fail the Blaugrana are said to have identified Valencia's Juan Mata and Shakhtar Donetsk forward Willian as possible alternatives.
