Any Guitar Players?

Has anyone got news about this development? I was told the developer would have final permissions by July of this year and begin to build in September having pre sold half of phase one. I´ve not heard anything since. Anyone got any news?

We have paid our deposit on a property on this development but like you are struggling for information. I sent an email to Olga who replied that September was a big month for them and that she would be in touch later this month with an update. We are planning to visit the site on the 15th October to at least give us some peace of mind that things are happening. On our return I will email you with any news.

We looked at this development, as we were originally buying at Santa Ana del Monte (the developer has gone into voluntary administration, so September will be crunch time for us too, as the courts go back then!) and we wanted to stay in this area.  We decided that the timescales weren't right for us, so are currently renting in Jumilla, with the view to buying in the town (something key ready or closer to completion!)

We don't have a car, but do a lot of walking.  We are quite happy to walk out there in September (should be a bit cooler then!) to see if anything is happening.  Just pm me nearer the time to remind me, then I will post our findings here.

Mike and Julia, if you want to meet up when you visit in October, just let us know.  We are gradually building up local knowledge of Jumilla, and should know even more by then!

Thanks for your note, I hope everything turns out okay and you get back all your money, I must say  I am starting to get a little concerned with El Castillo as this seems to be going the same way. it would be great if you could keep us informed of any progress, we really like the area around Jumilla and hope all goes well.

Have you had an update re: building starting this month?  John and I are happy to walk out there and see what is happening, though if you have been told there has been a delay we probably won't go out there yet.

We are preparing a guide to Jumilla (slowly, as it involves visiting all the bars and restaurants!) so let us know if you would be interested in a copy at a later date.

Not received any update yet, but still planning to visit in early October. If you do manage to get out there before we visit I would be gratefull of any news. I would love to receive details of your pub and resturant tour, sound like very hard work! but somebody has to do it.

We walked out there this morning (it took us about half an hour from the edge of Jumilla) and spoke to Olga.  She confirmed that about half of phase one has been sold, and also that the paperwork had (eventually!) been approved by Jumilla town hall, but was now with Murcia.  She is expecting to have the paperwork approved and building started in the first quarter of next year, and the first properties ready to be moved into during the first quarter of 2010.  She was very frank and volunteered the information so we didn't need to ask her anything.

I have uploaded a couple of views if you would like to look at the photos for this development.  As you will see it is a lovely day here, which makes a change from the previous week when we had lots of rain!

Hi Everyone

Just returned from Spain and visited El Castillo to meet Olga and the owners, we had a good meeting one of the original partners has dropped out but the family Herrero have now become co owners. All bank guarantees will be issued over the next 2 weeks, however, they will want you to sign new contracts the only change is the dates pushing back the development to December 2010 with a possible slip of 6 months taking the contractual opening date to June 2011.

The down side of signing will be you will forgo any claim for interest or delay from the original date of June 09 with 6 month slip, we have seen our solicitors, who advise to wait until the Bank Guarantee is issued to check what dates are on that, before considering signing. There has been no movement on site since our last visit in February, but they state that delays in Planning and sign off from the Murcia and Jumilla authorities is the cause. They anticipate the full approvals before December 09 and then construction will commence in earnest.

Phase one is anticipated to be complete by Dec 2010 which includes the golf Course and the first 300 houses, not the commercial area, they did not have timings on the other phases at this time.  Overall I was pleased that the owners of the development chose to sit in on my meeting with Olga, it gave me confidence that they were still serious about this scheme and not afraid to meet with its clients.

The development still looks like it is still going ahead the new co owners are apparently big business owners in the Murcia area which again gives me confidence that the money will be there to build, once the Bank Guarantees are issued again this will give me the piece of mind that our money is safe, the downside is it looks like being 18 months late.

seems to be going ok on this development.

my flight details.  I am sure you have some interesting news as you are living in Jumilla. I will make my travel plans hopefully for the beginning of December. 

 I had news today from this website, eyes on spain that they are going to hopefully arrange a Christmas dinner to meet other members which I think is a great idea, so I will probably try and arrange my

trip around this date.

Happy New Year

Following discussions  with Olga i received the original bank Guarantee through the post just before Christmas, without having to sign the new contract. I had stated my concerns especially after reading Albiet postings, Olga said that  she would not push for us to sign the new contract, until construction works were well advanced in 2009, Pegasus were expecting permission to start any time now so fingers crossed.

Glad to hear that you have your bank guarantee, Mike & Julia.  When we went out to see the development toward the end of last year, we found Olga very helpful and also thought that she was very honest with us.  As we don't want to wait too long, we are now buying an apartment on the edge of Jumilla (close to the road that goes to Murcia).  As we said before, we are happy to walk out to La Castillo and check on progress, so if you hear that building has started and want to know for sure, just send me a PM!  Similarly, if you are coming over for a look and want to meet up for a coffee or glass of wine.
