I can't help you with local information but you would dial 112 for any emergency service.

I know some one who had to call an abulance a couple of months ago. They have lived in Spain for some years & are pretty fluent in Spanish but the operator insisted on speaking in English so that the person giving the details could be absolutely sure that they were saying what they wanted to say & that nothing was lost in translation.

He was extremely impressed with the professionalism that the operator showed & he said that it was very easy to get the correct message across.

There are medical centers in Totana & Mazarron - however for emergencies call 112 as previously stated. A medical centre is being built on Camposol, but currently it is still under construction. Valid insurance or the E11 card will probably be asked for if you need medical services. I was currently at the Mazarron A&E and they asked to see my husbands medical card, so be prepared.

There are long term plans for facilities here but at the moment Condado comes under Alhama de Murcia and there is a clinic there. Red cross have an ambulance station in Puerto Mazarron . How ever there are private doctors and clinics about if they have travel insurance. General comments about Spanish health system is that everyone has had excellent treatment. Person in our gardens over Xmas had to have emergencey operation and said treatment excellent. For minor problems the Pharmacist facilities are good and there are 2 nearby who speak good english. Prescriptions are not needed most of the time. Tend to take their advice first and what ever they give us really works. Told you can even buy antibiotics over the counter.

I wouldn't have worries just find someone who is resident and they can give you all the information.

Where's the nearest pharmacy to condado?  When we go on holiday one of us is always bad.

Would dialling just '112' work from a mobile phone, or would there be extra digits to be inserted first ?  Come to think if it, I don't even know if just '999' works from a mobile phone when in the UK, never having needed to dial it !

Pharmacy at el Pareton little village just off Condado , you can go towards Mazarron and turn off before Camposol or take service road on roundabout by entrance to Condado

Thankfully I haven't had to try it myself & I also have a Spanish mobile so I assume I wouldn't have a problem.

There is something at the back of my mind telling me that 112 is an internationally recognised emergency number that even if dialled from a UK landline would get you through to the emergency services.

Therefore, I would guess that 112 dialled on a UK mobile would work.

Not sure though & I hope I remain in blissful ignorance!

Think we're going to have to explore el Pareton next time we stay in Condado - a couple of people have mentioned going there for different things.
