Hi there,
Does anyone know the ''norm'' for the temperature for the boiler - the needle on the boiler doesn't even get half way, does anyone else have that problem? The water is warm but not red hot like i thought it should be - any ideas?
Ta

Hi CF
I would say this isn’t normal the water in my boiler gets boiling hot when the thermostat dial set ¾ so I would suggest you report it to customer services.

Hi Phil,
Are you finding that there is enough hot water in you tank for more than 2 consecutive showers. I am a bit concerned that if there are 4 of us in our apartment that we won't all be able to have showers.

Hi All
We were out there last week. The boiler took hours to get to full temp after first switching on The next morning four of us had showers but they were quick ones with an hour gap between each couple.Still in the summer we will all be wanting cold showers to cool off so hot water won't be an issue then. Still more hot water in the winter months would be better.

When we enter the apartment, first thing we do is put the boiler on full.
It takes about an hour for the needle to creep upto the first notch on the dial, it only ever gets to about the third notch with isn't even half way. There is hot water but not as hot as it could be, we had 2 consecutive showers but they were just warm ones. Presumably the boiler should get to at least half way on the dial if it's on full.
I would be interested to hear if anyone else has the same problem, really they all should be the same as they are the same boilers!

hi
hope this helps it worked for me.
the problem is pressure in the system, ie pressure from the mains into the boiler, you will see a small lever at the base of the boiler if you move it you will hear a pressure sound this relieves pressure in the boiler and drains into an out hose.
first find the inlet mains into the boiler make sure you open if fully this should solve your problem. But if it goes to high used the relief lever to let air out of the system.
now when this is solved, you can regulate the water hot and cold from the other two values this will solve hot and cold pressure to shower and taps alike. i think this is called equalising the system,
if the pressure is high in the hot taps/shower etc use the red value close to the boiler to turn it down abit as i found the hot water when using the shower disappears very quickly.

Hi there,
The heaters are pressurised so that you get mains pressure hot water. The needle on the front just tells you what pressure is inside the heater, this will creep up as the water gets hotter and the relief valve will let out pressure if if gets too high. As for getting more showers out of a tankful try turning the thermostat up using the dial on the underside of the heater becuase if the water temperature is higher you will need less hot water to cold water as you are mixing it at the tap.
