Hi all. Just got back from 4 days in Vera and the weather was superb! All the Christmas lights were going up everywhere. They must have a much better budget than our County Council!
Pueblo Salinas is really coming on and most of the buildings are painted up. The main pool is tiled and the waterfall feature completed. Also, the Sales Office, are stating completion of phase 1 is on target for July at the latest because apparently demand is outstripping supply and as such they are pushing for the second phase to be released for sale in February. Phase One is all sold apart from 3 apartments and 3 or 4 duplexes.
Snip bits of gossip (these tend to change visit to visit and excuse me if you already know) Commercials are to be built 2009-2010. There has also been an application to build a golf course on that marshy bit of land at the bottom of the road leading off the main drag up to our complex, (again not confirmed)
Latest community charge prediction was given at 100 euros, as all the completed gardens (not contained within the Leisure Complex) have to be maintained by phase 1 residents until phase 2 is occupied and thus eventually the charge will reduce as more people will move in.
The Leisure Club is going to be public and as such will have a green fence around the perimeter of the pool to prevent club users crossing into our complex. We will have free use of the outdoor pool/ indoor pool (access with a key) however the rest of the complex will only be available if we are members of the club of which we will get a discounted rate of possibly 40%. This will also apply to any of our visitors. (This is slightly contradictory to when we agreed to buy as we understood that both pools would be accessible and that we would not pay membership for the use of the club until the whole development was finished (approx 3 years) - does any one know anything different?
We took loads of photos and got our blocks slightly confused but we have them all on DVD and if anyone wants a copy drops us an email with your address and we will put one in the post to you.
Nice new Comsure supermarket opened at the bottom on the main road with a beautiful Chinese buffet restaurant above. (We ate there twice in the four days) Fantastic range of starters to include duck and then you select the ingredients that you want for your main meal and choose a sauce and the chef cooks it while you watch. You can then repeat the process as many times as you like for 12 euros each. You also get a complimentary bottle of wine at the end of the meal to taken home which is very drinkable!
It was really good to see how much the area has come on since we were last there in July, but even more so to think that this time next year we will be thinking of that lovely weather as we pack up to spend Christmas there!
Happy Christmas - Sue and Paul
