Hi all

Summer is fast approaching (our first rental season) and still no electricity.

Does anyone know the current situation?

perhaps now rudina are reading these posts they can respond.

Someone previously said that the community president will be drafting a letter to the electric company. Is there any more news.

regards

Woody

Hi woody,

We are going over to Iznalloz on Thursday this week for the weekend, returning Sunday.

I hope to meet with Pepe on Friday morning and will ask him if there is any further progress re the mains electricity supply. I also will be requesting that RUDINA put more news on their web site to keep customers informed re progress etc. and also to include other useful news about the area that will help promote the development for rental of properties. This may then get more positive comments on this forum rather than those negative comments by the mischief maker.

I will be making further comment next week re the post reference the community budgets and charges after I have spoken to Pepe. I do not expect that we will be able to attend a committee meeting at Easter as we had already planned to visit during the last week of May plus this weekend.

Regards,

raileng

Hi woody,

I didn't get to meet Pepe. Bea phoned my mobile to advise they were unable to meet me on Friday as they had Office work to attend to. Later in the day, Bea called back to advise that the Electricity Company would be starting on Thursday of next week and the contracts should be set up early next week prior to Thursday. Bea advised me that our lawyer had been advised. I assume that was the reason that Pepe was unable to meet me? I will be contacting our lawyer during the week and will ask Phil & Cath on Friday if the work has started.

regards,

raileng

Hi,

We were wondering if anyone else has had problems with the costs of the electricity connection. Originally 6,9Kw was contracted for us but this didn't seem to be sufficient as the system tripped if the oven and two hob plates were on at the same time. Clearly not easy to cook a meal. Perhaps we need to turn off the lights and cook in the dark! Anyway, that connection cost us 211 euros.

Subsequently our lawyer had it upgraded to 13,8 Kw. That cost a further 310 euros. We have already paid more than we thought we would pay to run the apartment for a year and we have hardly used any actual electricity.

I have read various estimates that suggest that 6kw or so would be ample for our needs, though either that is not correct or there is something wrong with how it all works in the apartment. Indeed, with 13kw we could probably run the whole commercial centre or a small factory.

Comments would be very welcome. It seems to be difficult to get an accurate picture on this.

Best wishes,

Mike and Sandra

Hi Mike & Sandra,

I understand from Electrical Engineering Consultants at work that 13.8 KW is a normal supply for a 3 bedroom property here in the UK. An apartment in the UK would require a minimum of 9.2 KW. A 4 bedroom house here in the UK would require a supply of 18.4 KW.

Hope the above information is of use, I cannot understand why the design did not identify the requirements for each type of property in the first place.

Regards, Trevor

Hi all,

I came across this link:

http://www.justlanded.com/english/Spain/Articles/Property/Utilities-in-Spain

It explains about the Utilities in Spain in detail.

Hi all,

I am beginning to wonder if you are all 'being had' up on the balcones??  We live in a 3 bedroom

town house built approx 50 years ago and our electricity is only 2.2 kw and we don't have any

problems unless we have every electrical appliance on in the house at the same time - in this I

mean washing machine, tumble dryer, electric oven and hob as well as the water heater, t.v.

etc., etc., something doesn't sound quite right to me, I'm also staggered by the amount you

actually paid to have the kw increased!  I thought Dick Turpin died years ago!!!  Serious investigation

required, I think???
