With the exchange rate as it is at the moment 1.1 if we're lucky I would buy as many electrical items as you can in the UK, especially if you can get them in the sales or on offer. TVs are probably very similar cost wise but most white goods are cheaper in the UK. The area I noticed the biggest difference was in the tumble dryer (yes we do need it) and small electricals such as toasters, kettles etc.
I have not seen a 4 slice toaster anywhere here and a 2 slice toaster costs in excess of €25 as compared to a 4 slice toaster from Sainsbury's or Tesco basic range which are around £7. Same with kettles.
