Hi Dermot&Louise,
I have not heard any news from agent or San Jose recently. I am over in Spain next month so will find out latest and if there is anything you wish to know I will find out on your behalf, just let me know.

I have just been reading the posts on Albatera Golf. I live in Albatera, a stones throw away from the development
and It was me who actually called into the Town Hall a few months ago to ask for
the latest, all they could tell me was that they were waiting for
permission from Valencia and that is would be another couple of years before they carried on or before it would be open wa not clear, they are very wary of giving out any information on anything believe me and San Jose have spent a lot of money on Albatera!
it is so difficult to find out exactly what is going one, even when you
live here.
Anyway I would love to hear the latest if anyone knows anything at all
Kind regards
Sharon sharon@livespainforlife.co.uk

Sharon: Thank you for your additional clarification - interesting to hear from someone who is `close at hand`. Be very happy to hear of any additional updates, since we have been waiting for nearly 4 years!
Steve H: Any additional inputs from your recent trip?
Lets hope Jan`07 brings some good news - not before time.

I got en email from SJ today where they consider that they can´t promise a fixed completion date. Our contract is about to expire so they are offering to revaluate our property towards another developments at the same price or higher. We have paid quite a high deposit so as a second option they are actually suggesting to refund most of it if we promise to jump on the train again when the building licenses are in place. We have always being threated well by SJ and are optimistic about this development in spite of the delays. Anyone in the same situation with any ideas....

Hi to everyone in the same position as us. Has anyone heard anything about the development? Our contract (the second one) states a completion date in July 2007 but we have had no word at all.
We will be visiting the site later in the year but I'm not hopeful!

Hi Everyone,
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we have just received an email from our solicitor in spain, (1st one ever, which happens to coincide with the fact that she is informed of us going to see our solicitor here in the Uk tomorrow about the situation at albatera).
We have always been told that we have a bank guarantee and thought our money 50% of it was secure. the spanish solicitor in her email to us has said that she has repeatedly asked San jose to renew it and that they cannot because they have been unable to provide satisfactory documents to support the progress of the albatera development. She has also said that she will accept no responsibility if we stay with the development, we feel we have had no other choice but to ask for our money back!
It has been a long haul and our house was to be ready in time for our 25th wedding anniversary, which is long gone now.
I just thought i should share this information with all of you
Very best regards
we hope things get better for you
Florence & Ricky

Hi
We have the same contractual details, second contract, complete July 07. I dont get the impression that SJ would be awkward about refunding any money paid, does anyone else?
We are more annoyed about the fact we have made an investment over a span of over 2 years, with no increase in value and no possible rental income. Also no fun or sport either.
Im thinking of an exit strategy now but want to try and ensure we have something good to show for our efforts!
Can anyone recommend an alternative site at all?
Brian and Lesley

Hi
I live in Albatera very near to the proposed golf complex and would like to let everyone know that we have a new mayor in Albatera and he is a member of the PP party the story as far as I know it on Albatera golf is that Valencia have still to give permission for SJ to carry on with the project which is at the moment stopped. It was never Albatera who said no in the first place they wanted it ater all SJ have sponsored projects here to get the backing thye had to start in the first place. The new Mayor who says he is in his own words all for the development to go ahead has told a contact of mine that he is going to Valencia personally to put forward this proposal along with others, whether the fact that that Valencia are also headed by the PP party will have any effect is anyones guess but maybe we will see a decision at least.
There is nothing happening on the site at the moment but the properties are being looked after and the grass is newly cut!

Hi everyone. The chances of albatera golf ever being built is about zero.I was one of the first to contract before the site was on public offer.I finally got my money back from SJ 2 years ago less the agents commission. It proved very difficult to say the least.I believe that SJ have used the deposit monies to fund other developments and if there is indeed a run on them to return payments they will not be able to do so.My advice would be to try and switch to another development.Regards to all chris

Hi All
Just passing over the mountains on my way back from Hondon de Los Frailes, thought I would pop in and take a look, maybe ask a few questions, if there was anyone about, all tidy and two workers there cleaning a wall other than that deserted. They told me no permission and maybe not for a year, I said you mean 7 ...they laughed!!!
If I have any more news will post

Just posted this on the general forum:
The meeting for this week is being coordinated by Jose Maria de Lorenzo. He is based in their Marbella office.
I spoke to him yesterday and a lot of the feedback he's had is that Wednesday is generally not a good day. It seems people would prefer to have a meeting held at the weekend.
He is going to send me final details hopefully later today so I'll post them here as soon as I know.
Now, let me stress that going to the meeting is NOT committing you to anyting at all. It is an opportunity to ask questions as a group and to understand your options. Whether you are using your own lawyer, another lawyer or no lawyer at all, then I would urge people to still attend the meeting. This is a very confusing and worrying time and I hope by bringing as many people together in one room you can all find some comfort in supporting eachother.
If you want to be kept informed about the meeting please use the form below, even if you are unsure at this stage whether you can attend.
Birmingham meeting interest form
I understand that Abolex is planning to hold a meeting on Friday in Jumilla. If you want me to run a central database for people interested in this meeting then please let me know and I'll get it set up.
Also, if there are people based around Costa del Sol / Costa de la Luz area that would like to attend an informative meeting then perhaps we can run on with Maria de Castro is there is a need.
This is exactly what Eye on Spain is all about and why it was started nearly 4 years ago. Bringing like-minded people together. Whether it's online or offline we try our best to make it happen.
And finally, just to make it clear, we have NO financial interest in any lawyers present on this site. We will always use our contacts and friends to help where we can. That's what we're here for.
Best of luck to everyone. I'll keep posting information as and when I get it.
Justin

I have arranged to do a podcast (audio interview) with Maria de Castro tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon to discuss the issues facing buyers of property through San Jose. We want to do it as a question and answer session but we need YOUR questions. What question would you like me to ask Maria in the interview tomorrow?? Please let me know and we'll try and get through as many as we possibly can.
Just fill in the form below.
Thanks. I will publish the interview on Wednesday morning.
Justin

The Albatera administration is not finished yet.............
Its still unclear whats happening.
The builder is absolutely appaling at communication, they dont give a stuff about any of us, thats my belief.
I just want my money back or them to get what should happen to them, folded up and busted.
Unless by some miracle they decide to be communicators again...........and its all been a bad dream.
If anybody knows anymore, let us know please.

The only development that has a glimmer of hope of going ahead and finishing is the El Pinet development
Albatera etc if ever goes ahead, you are talking years and years and more years
