Dear Bob and Carmell
My name is Jean - I also own at Hacienda - in Muirfield block.
I have lived on the Coast for 14 years and work in real estate, property management & holiday rentals.
I am not sure if I am allowed to mention names on this site - so will not actually name the bank itself - but 1 UK bank - operating here in Fuengirola have some excellent deals.
Normally - you will be required to supply your most recent P60 ( so April of this year) + your 3 most recent payslips.
If you are both working - it may be that the bank will require this information from both parties,
You will also be required to send a letter of reference from your UK bank - not disclosing any details - merely saying that you are a recognised client for however many years & that you have conducted your account with them in a proper manner.
If you are self employed - you will need to supply a copy of your most recent accounts.
No valuation of your UK property should be required - but a valuation will need to be done of your Hacienda apartment, by the bank you choose to go with.
Cost for this valuation - may be around € 200 Euros, depends on which bank.
Please be aware that if you do not take the mortgage available through EveMarina - which is with Caja El Monte, and have not advised them otherwise during the period of your contract, you may have to pay a 1% penalty for cancelling.
This really is a bind, but many people have elected to do so, as other banks have been offering better deals - for example the 1 in Fuengirola are actually doing a 15 year interest only mortgage - which is fantastic for anyone who may be thinking of selling on, once the complex is a little established and true market values are being achieved.
Kind Regards
Jean
