Hi everybody or indeed anybody!
We are due to complete on our property quite soon and intend to visit regularly in the Spring. It would be nice to meet up with our fellow residents at some point, but with the Golf Clubhouse being years away, we'd like to know how we could make this likely.
I was active on the old site when the issues with the golf course became an matter for many to consider and I'm sure some people either fought their corner and left or are still doing so. However for those who remain and either don't care for golf or are prepared to wait for whatever transpires, it would be nice to meet and have a glass of wine. Obviously we are all there at differant times, unless you are resident, so any ideas how we can get together when we are there.
It would be a start if more people used the website as there has been a noticeable decline in activity on this site...come on everybody let's get chatting.
Happy days
John

Hi John
There are about 7 couples who are living there permanently. They are all really nice and very helpful. The BBQ area has now been built down by the pool. On New Years Day we were invited to a BBQ with all the residents and everyone else who was over on holiday. Apparently there were around 20 people there on the day. We couldn't make it as we were staying elsewhere and couldn't drive after NYE. Hopefully they will do some more as it is a good way of meeting up with everyone.

Hi Jennie
There is life on GM after all!.....
Only joking, but we were getting a bit concerned that we had bought on a site which had no social possibilities. We're not party animals by any stretch of the imagination, but we do like a glass of wine and a chat with friends, which is what we had envisaged when we come to the property. Also it's a fasttrack method to get to know the area and what it offers and last but not least I might find one or two golf buddies..........still a sore subject I know.
Mountains and Mohammed and all that, perhaps when we get over there we could have a BBQ and invite the locals. Hope so, can't wait to start living the life!
Thanks your reply
John

Hi Jennie and John,
We're coming out on 21 Feb for 12 days and would like to catch up with anyone who's about.
So if anyone wants to have a drink with us feel free to get in touch.
We've been quite relaxed so far, perhaps misguidedly! First job in Feb is to make sure Peter has got all the outstanding jobs in the apartment completed.
Sure everyone also knows about the 1st constitutional meeting on 9 Feb. We will look into the possibility of coming out for it but if we can't we'd like to sort out a proxy vote.

Hi Priord
My word, this site is getting lively!
Isn't it the way, we go home on the 21st so that particular glass of vino will have to wait. And as we are buying a villa, we won't be in the Community of Owners, but it would have been nice to join the post meeting drinks bit and meet a few of our future neighbours. However on that day I will be a couple of hundred kms. down the coast in Almeria, no doubt losing a few Euros on the Golf course!!
Plenty of time though, hope we'll all meet up sometime later in the year.
John

Hi All
We are not back over until March now and not sure we will be able to visit as it looks like our place may be rented for the year.
Peter is a great guy and tries his best to get your jobs done.

Nice to see that the site has got a few response again.
Unfortunately we are not out again until April but would always be keen to meet up with the residents and anybody else who is visiting at the time.
Does anybody have any contact details for any of the residents as I would like to ask somebody to be use my vote by proxy at the Community meeting in February. Having been to one on another place in Gran Alacant I hope the meeting goes more smoothly than ours did. It basically develops into chaos and pandemonium as the meeting is conducted in spanish, obviously, with translations to follow. People can't wait to get their points in and you are never sure which item has been agreed and which item has been rejected. Then when the Minutes come out, it is probably different again and you wonder if you were at the same meeting!
Anybody know anything about Mediterraneo as Administrators as, again, experience has shown there are some firms who can do the job and some who most definitely can't, and you do get a chance to vote them out at eah and every meeting but most people opt for " better the devil you know" because nobody knows any of the other firms around.
Regards and Happy New Year to everybody on Gran Mirador 3

WOW.... Its good to see this board spring back to life, perhaps the New Year hang over lasted a little longer than expected.
Don't wish to dampen anyones ideas about Mirador...BUT... We passed contract with them 2 years ago for a townhouse on phase 2 and our experiance is that once you pay your final balance they clearly dont want to know you. As a community we have several issues outstanding and can see no wilingness on their part to fulfil the contract. My advise would be to hold back as much cash as you can until all your snags have been rectified. Be prepaired for a larger than expected bill as they add on charges for utillities like electricity water sewerage tv etc., We found out after we paid up that it is illegal to do so. All Mirador reps will promise you the earth to your face but when you are not there you are ignored.
