Hello all. At last, our completion letter arrived last week. We were a bit concerned as others' were getting theirs' but not us. As officially No. 45 phase 2 was to be ready by the end of February Carol and I booked an apartment, flights' and car hire for April 2nd so that we could be there for rhe Easter break. We phoned Iberian to let them know and thankfully the agent said the developer should be o.k. on the timing. We are looking forward to the trip and taking our 3 foster children there for a holiday at the same time.
Regarding the mountain at the rear of us we are, as Carol,Neil, Geoff and Hilary are,
interested in walking to  the peak to view the scenery from up there and of course for a bit of exercise. We have toyed with the idea of buying a tent and actually spending  a night up there with a bottle or two of Rioja. Does anyone know of any "local walks" books'?
 Also does anyone know of  any good furniture stores'? We know the Arca store in Torrevieja and were told of some on the outskirts' of Almaradi which we'll be taking a look at. We want to spend the second week of our visit at our apartment so have to get all the funiture picked and delivered in the first. By the way we managed to buy our euros' at the rate of 1.50.31. through HIFX who transfer it free of charge to the Halifax also free of charge.
See you all eventually, best of luck with everything. Carol and Michael.

Hi

Pleased that others are interested in walking!  The only guides I have come across are to the mountains near Alicante.  These are in a Ciccerone Walking guide readily available in the Uk, it is called Walking in Costa Blanca South.

We have bought all furniture from Arca as it seemed the most easy but may top up with a visit to IKEA at Murcia which is only 30 minutes away.

Best regards

Geoff and Hilary

Hi all,

Thanks for the information Geoff and Hilary. We will try the book you suggested and Ikea in Murcia for furniture. Look forward to meeting you sometime soon.  Good luck.    Carol and Michael

Hi all.

There has been much talk lately about Furniture Packs and the Quality of the furniture we end up with. We have experinced much the same as others in that we weren't happy with the quality of the furniture. We had to change a lot of it including our master bedroom furniture. We have since made contact with a very good company that imports all there furniture from the uk. They supply and fit everything just like Arca (except you will be happy with their furniture).

For any information on this contact;

Jack or Paula

Hi Jack and Paula, would you mind letting us know the company you've made contact with? We would rather buy good quality furniture first time round as have to spend more money replacing it. Is it expensive to import this furniture or is it already stocked in a store in Spain to view? If local to Hurchillo how far away and how long for delivery? We intend buying all the white goods' at Arca with the 2100 euros' voucher we are to be given by Iberian when we get there in April so that will be a nice start. Thank's for the info and look forward to meeting you both soon. Good luck. Carol and Michael.

You can get up the mountain. Take the road for Torromendo and you can walk or drive up it

Its a couple of hours walk up to the top and back down the other side
