Damage To Dona Julia Golf Course

Hi Folks

Unfortunately there has been a landslide at the 5th hole and  9th Hole with all the torrential rain seemingly it will cost

200,000 euro to fix and the club cant afford tha so it has closed its doors completely for the time being

This is not good news at all

Hi folks

i have been trying to find out more information there is a lot of damage from a burst  underground water pipe causeing a landslide it is going to be very expensive to repair  and the club doesnt have the money ,the course is still open playing 9 holes and all avenues are being looked at it would be a disaster if this lovely course didnt fully open again

Hi Folks

A Friend went to the golf course today and spoke to one of the committee members who advised him that the work on the two damaged holes will hopefully be completed by the end of May or early June, They are arranging for buggies to be provided by another company and they should be available within the above timescale.
 
He did say that it will take approx six months for the course to be back to perfection as a lot of weeds have grown since the rain and these have to be removed by the root.

Hi Folks

My friend has just been down to the golf club to talk with the new owners as yet they dont have a web link set up work is still going on at the damaged holes they intend opening 9 Holes late september at least it is going in the right direction will post thier club link once it is set up

My friends also visited the damage area and there is a lot of heavy earth moving equipment working there

Update on Dona Julia Golf Club 26th Spet 2010
 
9 hole for two persons with buggie  =   55 euros
 
18 hole (for now 9 hole x 2 with buggie for two persons = 75 euros
 
The full 18 hole should be completed by the end of November.
