Having just taken a contract on a long term rental (11 months) with a view to an ongoing contract after that I have just been informed that he owners actually have put the home up for sale with another agency without us or the current agency knowing.
After all the hassles of moving, the telephone, the satellite, the new furniture items and decor to match our own tastes, the costs, the time, the updating of business rcords and paperwork and not least the major dissapointment on hearing this news I would like to know what rights I have as the tenant.
I would never have rented a place that was up for sale. This was a place that we were hoping to settle in for as long as possible. I do not want potential buyers invading our private space, who would? I cannot tell you how deflated this has made us feel.
I would like to know what I should do really.. Should I be awkward and say that I do not want these visitors viewing the property or should I draw up a compensation package and leave the property and go through the pain of searching for another property all over again?
