I have just found this message board site and have searched other developments that are being built in Murcia

Most other developments have numerous messages about progress at the resort

Hacienda only seems to have about three messages. They have supposedly sold about 400 properties so where are the owners? Are they all hoping to return in a few years time to find the place completed?

If you own on HDA please get in touch. The AGM is in about 2 weeks ( mid Feb 2007 ) and a good turnout would be beneficial.

This resort has so much potential if only the developer would stop building more and more houses and concentrate on getting the infrastructure in such as landscaping and planting, hotel and spa and some decent sports facilities.

It may be the number one resort in S East Spain but for what exactly? Dust ?

One last thing. Have they closed that motorbike race track down next door yet. Not sure I fancy one of the apartments overlooking that!

If anybody else is interested please get in touch to try and put some pressure on Armilar and get this place looking half decent at least before I retire!

PS I am only 35 at the moment

Motor racing track still in operation but has been pretty quiet over the last few weeks.

Very little communication about the Hotel, although lots of rumours flying around(It was supposedly a done deal last year, but as always, owners are the last to know)-big Spanish group from Barcelona is where the clever money is betting.

Everything is behind schedule, but the quality in comparison with most developments is good.Space is the main advantage, combined with an excellent Golf course, which is in really good condition. The hot topic at the moment is the Golf shares, but as always information/communication is appauling.

Keep the faith...I`m about the same age as you...it will all happen in our lifetime!!!!!

Hi

We have bought on HDA also.  2 x Coral iv.  We have one rented out at the moment,  the other we are getting the money together for furniture to try and rent that one out also.

The rent is not great but it all helps until the infrastructure is improved and we can hopefully then get more.

We cant get over for the AGM I'm afraid but if you want us to support any motion to push things through then just let us know.

Patricia

Hi, I too am surprised that there are not more messages on this board especially as we never seem to hear anything from the developer or agents.

I have a Coral 4E in phase 2 and bumped into Dave Thomas the other day. Can give you a little update but again - doesn't really mean anything!

I asked about the 2nd course and he explained to me that the design is finished and has been for a while (despite several changes) and they are just waiting for the green light to start construction. Rumor had it that the club house was to be open this Spring but it doesn't appear to have advanced much this year - unless they are working on the inside. The Spanish village is progressing well and due to complete in approx. 18months. A lot of commercia units have been purchased and the sales of the apartments have gone well. No news regarding teh hotel - Roberto said last summer that the "deal" was nearly signed but still no news! I have heard that they are considering selling off rooms that can then be rented out (like La Loma in La Manga Club) - but again this could just be a rumour.

Were any of you present at the AGM? My understanding is that the management company still don't have a lot of peoples details so cannot send out letters. How was the turn out and what was discussed? I'll be around for the community meeting in March.

At the last community meeting Roberto informed us that they are spending a lot of money on security and cameras (hence why we had to pay 10€ a month more towards security) and the main gate is now open. He also promised that Armilar would finish off communal areas before we started to pay our community fees - from what I saw last there are now green areas around the pool but not many people paying their fees. I know they are a little high but the pools are perfectly clean.

There is now a childrens play area infront of the IT cafe, the tennis courts are open (2 of them) so things are moving forward. And there are raving reports in the Spanish local papers about the golf course.

Would really appreciate feedback, updates and news on the AGM.

Hope to see more posts and more activity on site soon.

Thanks everyone for getting in touch, I am glad there are other people out there who are interested!

I own a Coral IV on phase 3 and my parents own a Sirio II on phase 1. They bought the Sirio as a resale about 2 years ago and have now completed the pool and garden to a fairly high standard although most of the properties around theirs still have tumbleweed in the garden - not sure if some owners will leave the properties in phase 1 to decay forever ?

The Coral IV has been rented out on a long term let for a year. The rental return is very poor and Armilar seem to deny any further responsibility for snagging which means the cost of repairs to a nearly new house eats into the rental return.

My parents attended the AGM the other day. Apparently there were only about 20 people there and they were mainly concerned with the golf share. I have to say that I can think of far better ways to spend £ 18000 even if the value will appreciate in the future! The design of the golf course is good even if it is a bit long for the average player but as I have mentioned before the planting and landscaping around the course are woeful and do not seem to be progressing. Aesthetics are very important in golf and a fairway surrounded by huge swathes of dried earth do not make for the best view. Compared to the courses at La Manga the difference is incredible ( I know La Manga is 30+ years old now ), even compared to new courses such as Roda and Mar Menor the landscaping is very poor.

I am told that the second course will not start until next year now. This must be very disappointing for owners with golf views of the second course, the rental value of these properties will be reduced for several years to come. If the delay means that the first course is completed to a good standard then this might be a good thing long term however. I am also told the clubhouse should be completed for the summer. The completion date for the hotel has now been put back to 2010 and it is almost certain that Melia will be the hotel group, not a massive name in the UK but well renowned worldwide and a good selection of 5 star golf resorts. Hyatt/ Hilton would have more welcome I think.

Whatever happened to the HDA beach club mentioned in the newsletter several months back ? Can anybody shed any light on this ?

Anyway, I would welcome any more news/ views, keep in touch everyone !!

Hello all

FYI  Mark Stucklin,  the Spanish property expert for The Times,  has done a review of Hacienda on his website, spanishpropertyinsight.  It was very favourable and it is one of the few developments in Spain that he recommends.

He complimented the landscaping (wonder what part of the development he was brought around).  Obviously not past my house as I have not had the garden done yet!!!!

It is however comforting to read his comments.

Are any of you using Sue Gardiners services,  she bought out Barwell and is now running the letting side under another company name.
