Ceiling Fans

Hi,

Does anyone have ceiling fans in the main bedroom and if so, are you able to operate the fan without the light staying on in the corridor outside of the bathroom?  We have this problem and Paco told us there is nothing he can do about it because it's a problem with the way the whole building has been wired.  He told us all we can do is to remove the bulb- which I know we can do but is not very satisfactory!

Yes I am afraid that Paco is correct. We had ceiling fans fitted last year and didn't realise that the ceiling light and the hallway light are powered by the same switch and on the same circuit. Unfortunately we have had to remove the bulb from the hallway light in order to leave the fan running at night.
