Hi,

Pete and I have bought an apartment in La Recoleta Phase 1, Block 3, 2nd Floor.  We are due to complete on 14 June and will be in Spain hopefully from about 9 June for 2 weeks.  Johnspc I see you may be there then too, would be interested in meeting for a drink, and anyone elsewho may be around at that time.  Brism, I see your wife Anne has been measuring up.  Would she be able to offer me any info on window sizes. I would really appreciate it as I can't seem to get any answers my end.

Does anyone have any info on the second batthroom?  Is it a small bath or shower cubicle.

Thanks

Maureen

Signing: Can anyone shed any light on the rumour that signings in May would be delayed, we were phoned by our agents, Parador, who informed us that there would be a problem with our signing, The Certificate of Habitation was going to be delayed and would not be ready for us, this was due to the official who dealt with CoH's being off ill and a backlog building up which would put back the wole process.

We were only informed on last friday, at 5:00pm and we could get no more information on this subject  from the builder or otherwise what was going on, also this weekend is a bank holiday in Spain and no further information was promised until next Thursday.

Perhaps someone could confirm the situation?

We have booked hotels, flights, car hire, arranged for furniture deliveries, etc. etc. This is extremely worrying and the extra costs incured at this stage will run into hundreds of pounds.

Surely the builder must ensure that everything is in place before giving a date for the signing, Other buyers please note.

In response to Maureen,

Did not have much time to fully measure the windows, all I can give you is is the ceiling height which is 2.5 m, we were more concerned with the floor space and layout for furniture, the bathroom attached to the main bedroom has twinsinks and a small bath with a shower over it (with glass showscreen) and the 'guest' bathrrom has a 'walk in' shower. Hope this info. helps.

Hasta Luega!

Brian

Thanks very much Brian.  The info is greatly appreciated.  We weren't too sure whether there were shower screens, we thought there was a full size bath though.

The delayed signing is not good news though, that is our worry at the moment as to whether we book anything for June or leave it to the last minute.  Hope it sorts itself out.

I have posted some pics showing the bathrooms, these are all I have and do not show all the details, there was no electricity on and the place was very dark so it was difficult to get some good shots however it will give you a good idea of the layout.

The small bath has a raised flat area (not shown in pics) at the end of the bath level with the top (a handy shelf) so it could take a longer bath if you wanted I suppose. I would estimate that the available space for a bath would be about 2 m or so. We are quite happy with the current size of the bath,. We stayed at an apartment in 'La Entrada' where the bath there is the same size and you can still have a relatively good soak, albeit with bent knees! also there is no room for a longer bath - the width of the bathroom is the same length as the bath.

There are,  after all said and done, pros and cons for having a smaller bath - at least you have the option!

Brian
