Hallo

if anyone who has had experience with the developer of torrealba could help me , i was due to close on a 2 bed property in torrealba yesterday the 13th of feb and under advice i decided not to as the chances to resell the property are very slim .

Does anyone know if i have any grounds to get any of my money back from the developer , and if anyone is currently chasing the developer for money back how they are getting on .

Thanks

Hi there

I did get my money back through Palmera Properties the Agent but it was very difficult and we didn't get it all back. We were short by about 10,000 euros. We sold for the same reason, the chances of resale are very slim, you would be lucky to break even let alone make any profit. I'm not sure what agent or solicitor you have used but I'm pretty sure you may not get all the money back. If you are successful in doing so, please let me know as I'm still hassling Palmera about the 10,000 they short changed us by. Just out of interest why did you call this message "developer cancels contract"?

Thanks

Hi

not sure what this is all about. We have now completed on Torre Alba and taken possession of our apartment - along with quite a few other people. The site is more or less finished apart from some tidying up and snagging etc. The developers have left about 5 men on site to take care of those bits and pieces. I think the problem of trying to make a quick profit by re-selling will depend on when it was bought, how much it was bought for in the first place, and what the asking price is now.  We bought very early (June 2003) and, having looked at the general price of similar properties in that area, I am quite confident we could sell fairly quickly (if we wanted to) by pricing it at the lower end of the market - and still make a reasonable profit.
