There was a thread with a lot of varied views on this awhile ago.
Someone did mention a way they thought it could be done quite cheaply but the bottom line was this needs to be requested to a president and bumped on up the line to request ML (if the presidents agree its workable) to get a quote for it.
But if I can remember views included:
1) Not heating the pools and people could use Alhama indoor pool or sea if pools too cold
2) Heating one or two pools (but would those gardens want that or did it advantage rentals in those gardens)
3) Heating all pools
Generally I think if it was cheap enough people would go for it. But if not most were saying for the amount of people around during the winter it wouldn't be a good use of funds.

Hi All
As SMV says this issue was discussed extensively some time back but I am not aware of any president furthering it for us?
In my view its quite simple if we want an all year round resort we need to heat all pools so no area is disadvantaged over another, why this wasn’t done when built is beyond me.
I don’t think the cost would be excessive but someone who carries out this sort of work had previously said on the forum they would have a look and let us know, I am not aware of them reporting back so far?
I was out recently and a young family were by a pool the weather that day was quite warm, the children were playing in the pool area and had numerous attempts to go into the pool but it was far too cold for them, don’t suppose they will be wishing to stay again at this time of year, what a shame.

Hi Folks,
Happy New year to all.
Please remember it is not only the cost of heating the pools, there is also the cleaning of the pools all year round and the maintenance of the grass we have to consider. We were out for new year and I don't think tht the numbers visiting Condado could justify the costs. A good indication is the numbers who are playing in the golf society and the numbers are low at present, so the use of the pools would be low also. Just my own view on this matter.

I agree with Alison and Simon. Year round heating of all pools would bump up the community charge considerably. I, personally, would prefer only some of the pools heated over the winter months. If it benefits some owners, so be it. If the heated pools are fairly and strategically selected then no apartment should be outwith a 5 mins walk to one anyway. I am really keem to see some pools heated over the winter months. It just makes so much sense and would give a great community feel over the winter as families would meet around the pools and give the place a much-needed boost. Arlene.

GOOD COMMENTS ARLENE , BUT IF SOLAR PANNELS WERE THE WAY TO HEAT THE POOL WOULD IT NOT BE A CASE OF WHEN THEY ARE PAID FOR AND INSTALED IT WOULD BE RUN FREE FROM DAYLIGHT AND SUN ??? I TOLD THERE WAS A MAN FROM LIVERPOOL IN NARANJOS 7 WHO FITS SOLAR PANNELS IN HOTELS FOR A LIVING , DOES ANYONE KNOW HIM SO WE CAN GET HIS THOUGHTS ON THIS ,

And a big issue with some when this was discussed before is what pools are heated, if any.
People said they were totally against paying to heat specific pools which could benefit people who are solely investors in CDA.
Personally I don't see why people expect to be able to swim (in a heated pool) in the middle of winter but I agree it would be nice.
I just don't see the numbers being there at the moment to justify the heating.

To be fair, we have visited Condado at all times of the year and the pools are not exactly warm most months
I would say only late July-late September can you enter without taking a sharp intake of breath and then its usually a relief from the scorching sun
Something just to take the edge off would be nice but as earlier posters say, visitor numbers off season dont really justify significant expenditure and its really only the peak summer months where there is extensive use of the pools
